These days it is entirely possible to get a professional gym quality workout right at home. There are many reasons why people choose to exercise at home rather than going to the gym. One reason is privacy. Many people dislike working out in front of strangers. Another reason is price. Years of gym membership can get expensive and high quality equipment can pay for itself over time. Convenience is another benefit. With home equipment you can workout whenever you like without having to get in the car and drive across town to the gym. There are plenty of choices for fitness equipment -- treadmill, home gyms and lots of other choices.

The treadmill is perhaps the most popular type of home exercise equipment. Of course, you could walk outside, but that's not always practical. If you live in a rainy or cold climate, walking outdoors may not be practical. Not only that, but if you live in an area that has harsh winters or hot summers walking outside might be unpleasant. A treadmill solves this problem. You can walk in comfort while watching television or reading a book or magazine. Another benefit to the treadmill are the options available. You can adjust the incline and even track valuable information like how far you've walked. Treadmills range from basic and budget priced to feature packed and expensive.

Then there's the home gym. Popular home gym machines include those by Bowflex, Total Gym and Nautilus. These machines let you get a full workout for every muscle group. Some even include rowing machines for a cardio workout. And the Total Gym can be adjusted for Pilates also. This means you can do cardio, strength training and flexibility training right at home with one machine. With these machines you don't need an entire room devoted to your fitness equipment. Some models like the NS200X by Nautilus are especially designed to fit in small spaces.

There are lots of other fitness equipment treadmill home gyms choices in addition to equipment that can complement your treadmill and home gym. An elliptical machine is another fantastic way to get a total body cardio workout and can be used to spice up your workouts when you get tired of using your treadmill or home gym. Experts recommend to vary your workouts to prevent boredom. If you're excited about your workouts and enjoy doing them, you're more likely to stick with the program.
